That's my favorite as well! Superman looked more muscular. Oksner did alot of the covers around that time & his art was excellent. This is the about the time I started reading so this period is a favorite. great show!!Marcnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3703888482163891927.post-28051679746201540432011-12-08T21:51:22.178-06:002011-12-08T21:51:22.178-06:00Wish I could help, but I just happened to stumble ...Wish I could help, but I just happened to stumble across this online somewhere. With his super-intelligence he could have learned it before and used it then.

Actually isn't a pre-crisis Superman power the power of coincidence? How else would you explain what happened with Alstrom and any one else who seem enter Superman's life. It's an amazing coincidence Alstrom had the power to muck up the Terra Man, at the right place and time to save Superman.

I'm actually bothered more by Alstrom's belief that he can get fired so easily from a federal job like the mint.

Maybe Supes didn't notice the rig being built because he took an orbital route.

Don't People get different levels of security when they come into the Fortress. Such as Lois, she can see the Clark room but can't enter the all secret identity room. Batman can enter all the rooms. Later in the "Fortress of Solitude" special, doesn't he say he has a sensor on it that'll whisk the secret identity statues into another dimension?

Can't bore into super atomic room, might cause a disaster.

She can't be crazy and obsessed with Superman for decades? Like people don't get obsessed with regular people for decades?

She's from a different dimension, they either have a high level of respect of hotel rooms privacy or she didn't give it much thought. Course if they redid the whole Dimension Seven story today, Clark would have slept with her, she goes back, and few issues later we would meet a fully grown Superman Jr.XantesFirehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04536691063562931727noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3703888482163891927.post-71837146703037657972011-03-13T17:08:19.885-05:002011-03-13T17:08:19.885-05:00I don’t know about anyone else, but I was quite su...I don’t know about anyone else, but I was quite surprised to see another story featuring a Superman doppelganger in issue 243, following the showdown with the Sand-Superman in issue 242. Not that I’m complaining – I’m a sucker for ‘evil twin’ stories – but didn’t anyone at DC think to hold back on another Superman story with a double for maybe a couple of issues at least? What are your thoughts on this?

Great show as always - thanks again for the trip down Memory Lane.

Best wishes from England,

Anthony RooneyAnthony Rooneynoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3703888482163891927.post-27203757534822546742011-03-13T06:10:18.453-05:002011-03-13T06:10:18.453-05:00Hi Charlie, I've only just discovered your Sup...Hi Charlie, I've only just discovered your Superman in the Bronze Age podcast and I just wanted to say how much I enjoyed listening to this episode.

The cover to Superman issue 242 is my all time favourite cover. I can still remember seeing it on the stand in the newsagents shop where I used to buy comic books as a boy. I'd been following the story of the sand-duplicate Superman and was eager to see how it would conclude. I was not disappointed, and I really enjoyed the exciting conclusion to this tale.

Thanks very much for helping me to relive some very happy memories. Keep up the good work.

Anthony Rooney (England)Anthony Rooneynoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3703888482163891927.post-67078206837391589202011-03-01T12:17:20.905-06:002011-03-01T12:17:20.905-06:00Hey Charlie...interesting podcast, guess I need to...Hey Charlie...interesting podcast, guess I need to understand Superman a little bit more for this to stick but nice work! just wanted to pop in and give my support! That's pretty awesome, as I'm sure it'll bring a new listener or two to the show. As a fellow fan spreading the gospel of Superman across the Internet, it's nice to know that your efforts are appreciated.

The bronze age Supes is my personal favorite, so I've been listening since the first episode and am enjoying following along with your analysis.TomO.https://www.blogger.com/profile/08944846588700304555noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3703888482163891927.post-88066785635820104482010-11-23T23:00:05.392-06:002010-11-23T23:00:05.392-06:00Great episode. Listened to the first episode. Good stuff. ...Hello. Listened to the first episode. Good stuff. Personally, I tend to like a bit more story commentary. I am not sure that there's much to say about this issue since it's in many ways a late Silver Age tale backed up by an overly preachy Superboy story. So I can appreciate that your hands were tied.

Also, based on the description, I was expecting some really nasty audio problems but, except for one minor instance, the audio was fine. You'll only get better as you perfect your skills but you're already in a pretty good place.

This is in no way a bash, but I think it might be helpful if you discuss a bit WHY you're doing this podcast. What attracts you to the Bronze Age (apart from how awesome it is, I mean)? Do you prefer this over the Byrne Age?

Overall, I think you're in a good place to make an awesome podcast. You'll only get better over time.

Congratulations on a good debut episode!

- ttheCOLORSblendhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12935643378612870171noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3703888482163891927.post-3857173637614140432010-11-20T13:05:08.467-06:002010-11-20T13:05:08.467-06:00cool...looking forward to this!cool...looking forward to this!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3703888482163891927.post-69968220441664852912010-11-18T23:38:23.520-06:002010-11-18T23:38:23.520-06:00I am looking forward to this one, too!
